On October 3, 1977, Rosaura ‘Rosie’ Jiménez died in Texas of an illegal abortion, becoming the first known woman to die because of the Hyde Amendment. This year we commemorate her death, and the continued struggle to repeal the Hyde Amendment, with a private screening of HBO’s Documentary “Abortion Stories Women Tell” followed by a conversation with Ena Valladares, CLRJ Research Director.
